Whether assessing a start-up or a mature organization, investing is all about balancing risk and reward. Everyone has the same access to industry reports and generic growth projections, but how do those apply to the specific target? Does the company have a technical advantage? Additionally, a high level of trust must be held between all parties to share highly confidential and competition-sensitive information.


Approach

The Barnes Global Advisors works closely with the investor to first understand the goal of the investment and understand the possible gains to each player. Then we develop a question list based on the target’s capabilities and investment goal. We have a series of telecons, and likely a site visit, to assess the technology and/or capital assets and confirm those can support the business projections and financials. TBGA acts as an extension of our client’s team and can answer questions at any time. Our final report details the most significant risks and opportunities identified for the investment.
