SPEE3D

SPEE3D approached TBGA with the challenge to create a virtual event to accommodate an international audience and easily demonstrate cold spray technology.

Background

In 2021, SPEE3D was looking to find a unique way to engage with a North American audience, especially as travel restrictions had significantly reduced interactions with customers. As cold spray is a unique technology, it requires some form of demonstration as to its capabilities for audiences to understand the application. Their team had attended the TBGA Leadership Series, hosted on the Remo online conference platform, and wondered whether this might be an option for them to present their technology in a LIVE environment. They approached TBGA with the challenge to create an online event that would demonstrate cold spray and accommodate an international audience, especially the company founders in Australia.

Approach

TBGA worked with the North American SPEE3D GM to develop a plan with the Remo platform as the preferred medium. An eastern time zone "Happy Hour" format was agreed to accommodate attendees from around the globe. When determining an engaging topic to attract attendees, TBGA suggested focusing on the expeditionary application that the SPEE3D technology enables. As this application is particularly appealing to defense operations, TBGA enlisted our defense and cold spray industry expert, Rob Carter, to moderate the event. With active TBGA participation confirmed, our team took the lead in setting up the conference platform, designing social media graphics, onboarding the SPEE3D team to navigate the Remo platform, and supporting promotion of the event on our social channels.

Solution

With the help of TBGA, SPEE3D held its first online event on June 10, 2021, with 157 registrations and 63 attendees. Participants asked several questions and follow-up conversations were available at virtual networking tables. A recording of the presentation was also distributed to all attendees post event.
