Designing for Additive Manufacturing

Custom built NO-COST training for organizations across the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) that are evaluating, adopting, or scaling additive manufacturing capabilities in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

Description

This intensive 20-hour course provides participants with a thorough understanding of additive manufacturing (AM) design principles and their practical applications across industries. The training emphasizes hands-on learning with proven methodologies, bridging the gap between traditional manufacturing and the innovation enabled by additive manufacturing.

Upon completion, participants will have mastered both “Modify for AM” techniques to optimize existing designs for additive manufacturing and “Design for AM” methodologies to create innovative designs that leverage AM’s unique capabilities. The training also focuses on identifying cost drivers and opportunities for significant savings through strategic AM implementation.
